West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network
-
The West Midlands Neonatal Operation Delivery Network (WM NODN) is committed to ensuring that babies and their families receive outstanding care whilst on their journey through neonatal care. A priority of the Network is to ensure that babies and their families are treated in the right place, at the right time and by appropriately skilled staff. The WM NODN will endeavour to work with the thirteen NHS Trusts within the West Midlands to ensure that progress is made to fulfil all elements of the recommendations of the National Critical Care Review Recommendations (NHS England and Improvement, 2019); the NHS Long-term Plan, (DH, 2019); Toolkit for high quality services, (DH, 2009).
The West Midlands Operation Delivery Network consists of 13 NHS trusts which host 14 neonatal units, surgical neonatal unit and KIDSNTS transfer service. Within these services we have 5 Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU, L3) services, 5 Local Neonatal Services (LNU, L2) and 4 Special Care Units (SCBU, L1).
The West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network was created following the merger of the Southern West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network and the Staffordshire, Shropshire and Black Country Neonatal Operational Delivery Network at the Joint Stakeholder Event held on the 10 July 2019.
