The Community Champions work in the most deprived ward in H&F (White City) but we are expanding it to other areas of INWL, quite a few are bilingual and reflect the diversity of the local population.  Below is some information about the project.  Both myself and Koss would be happy to meet with you and discuss your ideas to see how the champions can work with you to implment them.

The Community Health Champions Project works with 40 volunteers, 18 of whom are trained as health champions. The role of the Community Champions is primarily to:
• To contribute to identifying health and social care needs and priorities
• Promote and deliver local health and well being services
• Design and deliver key public health messages
• Work in partnerships with commissioners and providers to design, shape and improve public sector services

Examples of activities that the Community Champions are working on at the moment include:

- Child Oral Health Campaign

- Developing a community based website to promote health and wellbeing

- Cancer Awareness Campaign

- 6 Community Based Events across K&C, Westminster and H&F to promote local health and wellbeing services and raise awarenss of local activities.
