The Health Trainers' Network has been set up as one of the mechanisms to support and share information and learning on the development of the NHS Health Trainer model, following an inaugural meeting for PCTs and others developing the Health Trainer role, organised by the Department of Health and the NHS Modernisation Agency in April 2005. Health Trainer service are in operation in over 90 percent of PCTs in England and have seen about 200,000 people. over 2000 health trainers nationwide are working to provide one to one support for people who want to make healthy life style changes.
