New toolkit shows AHPs can improve care and save NHS money
A new, online, interactive system which demonstrates how optimum use of allied health professionals (AHPs) improves patient care and saves the NHS money was launched this week.
The system is designed to take commissioners and clinicians along different patient pathways, demonstrating at each stage how interventions by AHPs improve care and patient outcomes while reducing costs.
The work to develop the tool was commissioned by the Strategic Allied Health Professionals Leads England group (SAHPLE) and has been led by the SHA AHP lead at NHS London Lesley Johnson with York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC), part of York University.
