Bolton gets Foundation status
Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust becomes an NHS Foundation Trust
Independent regulator Monitor has given the go-ahead for Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust to become an NHS Foundation Trust with effect from Wednesday, October 1st 2008. The Trust will now be known as Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust also has a new website address, http://www.royalboltonhospital.nhs.uk
Foundation Trust status gives the organisation the ability to greatly increase the involvement of local people in shaping health services. The Trust will also have more financial freedom to invest in developments.
