Various conference dates for 2009

The RCN are holding a number of events in 2009 and the details of these events are listed below.

Third national joint conference on healthcare associated infection

Following two successful conferences last year, the RCN, DH and NPSA are pleased to announce the third joint national conference on healthcare associated infection.

RCN Forensic Nursing Forum and Women’s Mental Health Group joint conference
22 January 2009, Royal College of Nursing, London
This conference offers all health care professionals working with ‘risk’ in mental health settings an opportunity to learn more about the many ways to maximise and implement best practice in services through considering risk, change and
practice improvement in mental health.

Cancer care 2009: Collaboration in a time of change
23 & 24 January 2009, Chester Racecourse, Chester
This conference aims to build on the successes of previous years and provides an opportunity for all health care professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients with cancer to gain an understanding of, and to share developments in all aspects of the cancer patient pathway.

RCN Obesity Conference and Exhibition 2008

RCN Fertility Nurses Group annual conference and exhibition

This leading conference is designed by fertility nurses. The aim of the event is to ensure that nurses working in the area of fertility, women's health and general practice are aware of the relevant regulations and legislation, and are meeting these requirements in practice.

RCN Rehabilitation and Intermediate Care Nursing Forum Conference
27 & 28 February 2009, Royal College of Nursing, Cavendish Square, London
The aim of this conference is to highlight these issues, present national and international research findings, share good practice; and promote cultural competence which would help delegates provide more appropriate services for their increasingly diverse populations.

The 2009 International Nursing Research Conference
24 - 27 March 2009, Cardiff City Hall, Cardiff
This is the annual conference of the RCN Research Society and is organised in association with Wales Cyngor Cymru for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Professions Education, and in collaboration with the Welsh health economy.

RCN joint educational forums' second international conference and exhibition
11 - 13 June 2009, Thistle Hotel, Glasgow, Scotland
This conference will address a range of critically important themes relating to nursing education. It is designed to bring together nursing educators from across the globe, who are proactive in providing innovative educational practice to meet the changing needs of nursing; nursing students and health care personnel. Such education will facilitate effective systems for patient care delivery wherever that may be.
