British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) NHS sub-committee
A network of BADth members who work in the NHS. The committee represents Dramatherapists in the NHS, promotes Dramatherapy in the NHS and looks at issues/policy affecting Dramatherapists in the NHS.
The BADth NHS sub-committee has written into its philosophy the aim to raise the profile of Dramatherapy within the NHS, to look at issues relevant to Dramatherapists working in the NHS and to enable Dramatherapists in the NHS to share skills and knowledge. The committee endeavors to fulfill these aims through the following objectives:
-
forming a network of Dramatherapists who are working in the NHS (BADth members)
-
finding ways of sharing skills, knowledge and experience of working as a Dramatherapist in the NHS
-
encouraging the representation of Dramatherapy at relevant NHS forums
-
looking at relevant NHS policy and its implications for Dramatherapists
-
organising meetings/CPD days for BADth members working in the NHS
The NHS sub-committee has been involved with highlighting, raising and moving the profile of Dramatherapy forward as a profession within the NHS. This is being achieved by bringing awareness to commissioners, managers and the public of the therapeutic work that Dramatherapists do in the NHS, the value and benefit of Dramatherapy as a creative therapy modality, the level of training and knowledge required to become a registered Dramatherapist, and the range of skills they employ.
The sub-committee has its own email network of BADth members working in the NHS and a forum on the members site of the BADth website.
