All Wales Sexual Health Network

The All Wales Sexual Health Network was set up in 2000 as part of the action plan to implement the Strategic Framework for Promoting Sexual Health in Wales, and is jointly managed by the Wales Centre for Health and the fpa.

The Network is intended to provide a discussion forum for a range of agencies involved in promoting better sexual health, and to be a means of promoting best practice and increasing public understanding of sexual health issues.

Membership is free and provides access to Network activities, including: the quarterly newsletter interSEXion; two All-Wales national conferences each year; regional conferences; and a database of promising practice.

We currently have member representation from youth workers, public health practitioners, school nurses, teachers, pharmacists, emergency services, private sector employees, GUM clinics etc. but are always actively seeking new membership from other sectors.

A website for the Network is to be established in the spring to keep members updated with the latest information. This site will host the interactive 'Sharing Practices Database' search engine. The database, which will be updated regularly, is a key vehicle for sharing and disseminating the innovative and progressive sexual health work that is being carried out by professionals throughout Wales.

If you would like to become a member of the All Wales Sexual Health Network, please use the membership form below. Alternatively you can request a hard copy of the membership form from either Anna Morgan at Wales Centre for Health (029 2022 7744) anna.morgan@wch.wales.nhs.uk or Hayley Blackburn at fpa (020 7608 5420) hayleyb@fpa.org.uk / sexualhealthnetwork@fpa.org.uk.
