Reachout Network
Working together for Refugee Healthcare Professionals
The purpose of this network is to connect, share and stimulate people working to improve services for refugee healthcare professionals who want to join the UK health job-market. If you are a refugee healthcare professional looking for help, visit ROSE
There are projects and organisations throughout the UK working with refugee healthcare professionals who wish to practice in this country. The history of these projects means that they are at different stages of development, and the network will help them to support one another and also benefit from others with expertise or support from related fields.
The network aims to:
-
Connect individuals who can play a part in supporting refugee healthcare professionals to compete effectively in the UK health job market
-
Share knowledge to improve the level and quality of support provided for refugee healthcare professionals to compete effectively in the UK health job market
-
Stimulate collaboration and develop special interest networks that can develop expertise in discrete aspects of the route to employment for refugee healthcare professionals.
The network is run with the support of NHS Networks and is intended to support the wider 'Building Bridges' partnerships agenda led by NHS Employers working as part of the NHS Confederation. For a brief overview of 'Building Bridges' click here.
The Reache Centre, which is initiating the network, is a purpose built centre based within Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust supporting refugee healthcare professional return to employment. The development of the network is led by the Reache Centre but will only be sustainable with the guidance and support from all taking part. Reache will convene a small network development group and wishes to involve members from around the UK.
