ECT Accreditation Service

The ECT Accreditation Service (ECTAS) was established by the Royal College of Psychiatrists to promote better standards of electroconvulsive therapy practice. The initiative was launched in May 2003 in conjunction with the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance on the use of ECT which recommended the establishment of an audit network.
