Hampshire & IOW Public Health Network

The Public Health Network was formalised in 2002 and works to increase local capacity and capability and to share skills and knowledge. The aim of the Public Health Network is to protect and improve the health of the population in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight by working in a collaborative and concerted fashion and by building on the work done in individual PCTs and Local Authority areas to improve health, reduce inequalities and improve access to health services.

The Public Health Network incorporates Public Health Development, which provides an education, training and development function for staff in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to gain the competencies required to deliver the public health agenda. The Network is funded by the 10 PCTs in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. Portsmouth City Teaching PCT employ the Network Manager and Public Health Development Manager.

The Hampshire & the Isle of Wight Public Health Network is part of PHeNet (Public Health Electronic Networks).
