Psychological Therapies Network

A multidisciplinary network for policy makers, investigators, NHS mental health staff.

The Institute of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of its newest interdisciplinary network - Psychological Therapies. We are inviting colleagues from across University and the local NHS to build on strengths in research, training and service delivery to join this network, raising the profile of all aspects of evidence based Psychological Therapies, sharing knowledge, expertise and developing new alliances and research ideas.

We held a Launch workshop on 10 March 2006 where there were opportunities for networking, sharing your expertise and knowledge. Keynote speakers included:

There will also be talks on research, training, service delivery and policy issues, including psychosis, affective disorders as well as evidence based therapies such as CBT.

Who should join the network?
Clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and cognitive behaviour therapists working in local NHS trusts and local branch committee members of North West British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP); and those with a policy interest such as mental health NHS trust chief executives, leads for psychological therapies and implementation of NICE guidelines and R&D managers; and training and treatment commissioners from the Strategic Health Authority.
