Better Commissioning Network
The Better Commissioning LIN (Learning Improvement Network) was established in April 2004 under the auspices of the Health and Social Care Change Agent Team at the Department of Health and now forms part of the national networks of the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP).
It works alongside the Learning Improvement Networks on housing, telecare and Intermediate Care (ICN), and other programmes on Continuing Care, Partnerships for Older People (POPPS), Intermediate Care, Community Hospitals and others. It also links with wider commissioning programmes and agendas such as ODPM Supporting People and DfES Children's Trust developments.
The ojectives of the Network are to:

identify and share what works

facilitate development work, including the adaptation of good practice to local settings

promote the development of a whole system and joined-up approach to commissioning services

support a localplan, including implementation and follow-up, to improve all aspects of commissioning.
