Greater Manchester Special Care Dentistry - Learning and Support Network
The aim of this regional group is to give salaried primary dental care teams treating special care patients more opportunity to network with each other and with non-NHS partner organisations about how they are trying to improve service delivery, organisation and management for patients.
Objectives:
-
To promote the implementation of clinical guidelines and service frameworks relevant to special care dentistry within salaried primary dental care teams.
-
To benchmark service delivery and promote the adoption of examples of good practice across the region
-
To promote and develop learning and research in special care dentistry within salaried primary dental care teams.
-
To promote links with organisations representing disabled people and consult with disability groups to identify their needs and demands.
Meetings are held four times a year, in March, June, September and December at Failsworth Primary Care Centre.
Meetings usually include one topic, for example communication issues, review of a scientific paper relevant to special care dentistry and two clinical case studies.
