All Wales Mental Health Promotion Network

The All Wales Mental Health Promotion Network (formerly the All Wales Public Mental Health Network) aims to provide leadership and focus for public mental health in Wales. The network will increase public and professional understanding of public mental health, share learning and develop evidence and practice around public mental health and act as a conduit for the dissemination of promising practice.

Mental health and wellbeing are desirable qualities in their own right and much more than merely the absence of symptoms of mental illness. The mental health status of an individual or a population is constantly changing in response to circumstances such as employment status, quality of housing, access to leisure and a sense of security. It will also vary in accordance with an individual's ability to deal with these factors. Thus the network will seek to involve professionals across this broad spectrum of determinants of poor mental health and wellbeing to raise awareness and promote positive action.
 
To guide and develop the work of the network a Board will be established. The board will meet on a quarterly basis and will comprise of representatives from the seven themes of mental health promotion:
