PCT cluster governance

Following recent discussions on governance arrangements of PCT clusters, Jim Easton, national director for improvement and efficiency, wrote to chief executives setting out conclusions of the NHS Management Board.

His letter explains that out of the four governance models considered, model 2 was regarded as the most appropriate one.

Many PCT clusters have adopted or are adopting this model. The model has also been adopted by the SHA clusters and a number of other clusters have effective governance arrangements which will incorporate the key features of this model.
