NHS Alliance and NAPC Clinical Commissioning Coalition calls for urgent action on commissioning support
Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) should be given an immediate choice of commissioning support and a clear budget to pay for it, say the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) and NHS Alliance.
A recent survey of clinical commissioning leads showed that many were being presented with an all or nothing offer in terms of support by their PCT clusters.
Dr Shane Gordon, a member of the NHS Alliance's Executive and coalition working group, said "CCGs tell us that they don't know about the choices which could be available to them for commissioning support and that they need more information about what they are. It is essential that this changes quickly so that the best arrangements can be put in place from the outset".
