Better emergency care could save 500 lives a year in London
NHS London and London Health Programmes have produced a report setting out the case for change in hospital care for emergency patients.
The evidence put forward by leading clinicians suggests that increasing the number of hours hospital consultants are available at weekends and improving access to diagnostic scans could save more than 500 lives every year in London.
The report is: Adult Emergency Services: Acute Medicine and Emergency General Surgery - Case for Change.
