Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Network
The Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Network, PCCPN, is a UK-wide group of pharmacists and technicians who provide advice and services to community health professionals; health & social care, private and voluntary organisations; carers and patients. It is a 'stand alone' pharmacy special interest group with a membership of 350+ and an elected national committee. It was constituted in 1986 under the name Community Services Pharmacist's Group but changed the name in 1998 to better reflect the areas of practice of members.
Our expertise includes understanding the provision of community health services to a wide range of settings including bedded services, outreach teams, day care and community clinics, and the standards required. Many of our members are involved in regulation of care settings, working for or with one of the UK Regulatory Bodies such as the Healthcare Commission and the Commission for Social Care Inspection.
We have a static website which holds information about joining, conferences and study days, and publications and we use the National Electronic Library for Medicine (NeLM) to post active information.
