Network for Healthcare PAs and Executive Assistants
Following the first Healthcare PAs and Executive Assistants HSJ Forum held on 18 May 2005 in Birmingham, it was felt that a network to link a key, but often forgotten group of NHS personnel, should be created. The network's initial aim is to provide a virtual discussion forum for all levels of secretarial staff to support each other and share information across the UK, and to develop a wider network of contacts.
What is networking?
Networks are people talking to each other, sharing ideas, information and resources. Networking is an active process of communication, whether by phone, email or vitual discussion, creating links between colleagues. Networks enable you to get in touch with others, who may be able to assist you, or can recommend another person. Each person you contact could help you find the answer you are looking for, make you think differently or help in your personal development.
This networks aims to:
-
Provide opportunities for all NHS secretarial staff, PAs, and Executive Assistants to share ideas via the NHS Networks discussions forums.
-
Provide an area where useful information can be posted in the form of downloads and external links
-
Give ideas on training opportunities and career progression
-
Share best practice, useful tips and hints
How can I join the discussion forum?
Click onto www.networks.nhs.uk/forums. The latest discussion topics are posted there. In order to contribute to any of the discussion topics, you must first register as a user with NHS Networks. This is free and easy to do.
What sort of things do you discuss on the Healtcare PA & EA Network?
You can post a new thread about anything you wish. Previous topics have included Agenda for Change, Commissioning a Patent Led NHS, useful websites, or simply "Do you know how to..."
