Information Provides a voice for primary care nurses to promote their role; influence national policy and disseminate good practice and innovations. Provide a voice for nurses within the NHS Alliance to influence NHS national policy and promote nursing within Primary Care, for the benefit of patients. Develop a mutual support network for nurses and aid the dissemination of good practice and innovation.Key success criteria: * Establish a communication network to enable the nursing voice to be widely represented, informed and consulted. * Promote and disseminate innovation and good practice and indentify future development areas. * Promote a strong nursing indentity within the NHS Alliance to ensure nurses feel it is an organisation which is in tune with their needs and tackling their issues. * Contribute to the creation of an NHS Alliance image with key stakeholders, organisations and individuals, that is seen to clearly embrace an appropriate nursing viewpoint. * In concert with Alliance Head of External Affairs initiate press releases; comment on key policies, consultation documents and developments from a nursing perspective and regularly contribute to the Alliance Newsletter * Ensure NHS Alliance conferences/eventsare relevant to and attractive for nurses. * Ensure attendance/repesentation at key events both within and on behalf of the NHS Alliance, to promote the nursing perspective. * Provide informal links with other NHS Alliance networks/clinical leads to keep abreast of current issues and planned actions and maximise opportunities to influence. * Provide strong links with other key organisations e.g Royal College of Nursing and Nurse Director's Association, and with the Department of Health/StHA Nurse leads. |
