Supports PALS officers on both operational and strategic issues by sharing information and good practice and gathering themes, producing standardised procedures and supporting joint training.

Aims and objectives of PALS in Trent Network:
· Support PALS officers on both operational and strategic issues
· Take account of different levels of staff involved in PALS
· Gather themes about organisational issues to feedback to DoH
· Share information, eg. referral protocols, standardised procedures
· Guidance on relationships with patients' forums
· Share good practice and difficulties
· Identify trends within enquiries
· Action issues at the time where possible
· Support joint training – share expertise
