Default early supported discharge after CVA

Hi, I am involved in a stroke pathway redesign and am looking for figures relating to early supported discharge. Any ideas of how many people are likely to be suitable for such a service??

It is dependent on what model of ESD you are looking at
Here on the IOW we are basing our ESD model on Portsmouths Community Stroke rehab Team that provides a 7 day service and includes Nursing as well as Therapy Support. Using Portsmouths criteria I have done a snaspshot of eligibility and out of our 30 bed capacity 8 were definates with a further 7 probable (50% of our current inpatients)- contact me on 01983 534901 for further info

Default ESD after Stroke

Andy - a highly topical question which Jeannine has answered brilliantly. The most important part is the design of your service and what you want it to achieve. The number of patients you are then able to access will vary according to that.
I am more than willing to support further if you want.
