Although an oft quoted term used from time to time in relation to the NHS and other organisations, does anyone have any views or knowledge where this has been investigated systematically?

No but in a previous post I was leadnig the 'Hospital at Night' project and the term was used frequently to describe inter-departmental working. Intrigued to know more
