Choice Case Studies Database

Patients who use the Breast Service at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust receive a:

▪ Choice of date/or time for their 2ww appointment. In Rotherham GPs use the Choose and Book service, to directly book into a 2WW CAS. From this, the patient is contacted and a date and time for the outpatient appointment is agreed.

▪ Choice of date and time for their first diagnostic test. This is only necessary if the patient elects to not have their diagnostic test on the day they attend for the first outpatient appointment. Most patients choose to have their diagnostic test on the same day as their first outpatient appointment.

Choice of date and time for additional FNA or other type of biopsy
Choice of date for follow up clinic
Choice of treatment if cancer is the diagnosis
Choice of date for elective surgery - which can be done either at the time the patient attends for their outpatient diagnostic appointment or at the time the Breast Care nurse goes out to visit the patient at home following their outpatient appointment which has given them their diagnosis
